(TORONTO, ON) – Andrew Litton, as director of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, directed an inspiring version of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. Litton is an excellent weaver, and by that I mean he can direct an orchestra through the diverse emotional moments of a composer’s music. It shows in his face and his body movements.
Subtlety, raucousness, and tragedy are conveyed in Litton’s face to the orchestra, which then rewards him and the audience with a superb performance. A tremendous performance and directorial presence.

Litton has now moved from the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and is presently the conductor of the New York City Ballet Orchestra.
He still makes guest appearances, however, with the Bergen Philharmonic as well as with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Netherlands Philharmonic at the Concertgebouw, The Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Orcquestra Sifonica de Galicia in Spain, the National Taiwan Orchestra, the Singapore Symphony, the Colorado Symphony, and the Vancouver Symphony.
King Harald V of Norway has knighted Litton with the Royal Order of Merit.
